Disney’s Club Level Explained
We have now stayed at two Clubs on Disney property: Coronado Springs in 2022 and Beach Club in 2023. With these two stays in mind, I’m going to demystify Disney Club Level stays and help you decide if staying Club Level makes sense for you.
What Is Club Level at Disney World?
Club designation for your room provides you access to amenities that only Club guests get to experience. These include:
Access to the resort’s Club
Small plates and snacks throughout the day
Complimentary nonalcoholic beverages
Unlimited beer and wine while the Club is open and being serviced by cast members
Access to the Club concierge cast members who can help with issues, tickets, reservations, etc.
When you book your room at a Disney resort, you would have to select a “Club Level” room. It is an official room designation similar to “Standard”, “Preferred”, or “Water View”. It won’t be a surprise that you have access to a resort’s Club.
The Clubs generally offer:
Continental breakfast
Mid-day small plates
Afternoon hors d'oeuvres
Evening desserts
To-go snacks all day
To-go ice cream novelties all day
Canned and bottled nonalcoholic beverages all day
Coffee, tea, water, juice, and fountain drinks to-go all day
Complimentary selection of beer and wine all day
After dinner cordials
These Clubs are supposed to be designed to be a luxury add-on for guests. You have access to the private Club, usually 7am to 10pm daily. Depending on the time of day, the Club has different food offerings out, buffet-style. There’s a beverage counter with fountain drinks, coffee, tea, water, juices, as well as canned or bottled beverages you can take throughout the day. A selection of beer and wine will be available upon request from the Club cast members during these hours as well. This is an unlimited option.
It’s really nice to have an extra space to retreat to that is not your hotel room, especially for a longer stay. You can head to the Club to sit and relax, let the kids watch the Disney shorts on the TV, or eat in an area away from where you’re sleeping. Each Club also has a bathroom which can be nice for multiple people staying in one room together.
If anyone in your party has to balance work and play, the Club is the perfect spot to set up and work remotely while at Disney - Magic Me Husband and our good friend Magic Me Canada have both enjoyed their Club work space.
Which Resorts Have Club Level Rooms?
All eight Deluxe resorts and Coronado Springs (located in the Gran Destino Tower) have Clubs. The Contemporary actually has two Club levels, but they are quite similar.
Each Club has its own name and may be referred to as the name as opposed to Club level:
Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kilamanjaro Club
Beach Club Resort - Stone Harbor Club
Boardwalk Inn - Innkeeper’s Club
Contemporary Resort - Atrium Club and Tower Club
Coronado Springs Gran Destino Tower - Chronos Club
Grand Floridian Resort - Royal Palm Club
Polynesian Resort - King Kamehameha Club
Wilderness Lodge - Old Faithful Club
Yacht Club - Regatta Club
Cost of Club Level Rooms
It depends. In 2023, the least expensive nightly rate for a Deluxe Club level room is $745 and $428 at Coronado Springs.
The Chronos Club at Coronado Springs is the most reasonably priced Club room on property, but is also one of the nicest Clubs on property. You’ll also get to see the fireworks at EPCOT nightly from the Club. When we stayed there in the summer of 2022, the Club concierges were utterly amazing. Made us feel like we were family immediately. I still remember our concierge Melissa by name. (I actually miss her.) This Club is a deal compared to the other Clubs, but sells out a lot because of the price point. The con to staying here is that your stay doesn’t include Deluxe Extended Evening Hours in the parks.
The least expensive Club rooms at the Deluxe resorts would be Wilderness Lodge and Yacht Club at the rack rate starting at $745 and $796 nightly in 2023. Most of Disney’s promotions do apply to these rooms though. If you were to apply the current promotions to a Club room of 25% to 35% off, this brings these rooms down to the $500’s per night.
How Do the Nightly Costs Compare to Other Rooms at the Resort?
This is the general price difference between a Club level room and a standard room at each resort (before discounts):
Animal Kingdom Lodge $365
Beach Club $267
Boardwalk Inn $265
Contemporary $439
Coronado Springs $125
Grand Floridian $447
Polynesian Resort $242
Wilderness Lodge $292
Yacht Club $259
Not all Clubs are created equally. Coronado Springs is the smallest upgrade in price, but it’s a Moderate resort which makes sense. It’s also one of the nicer Clubs esthetically.
Animal Kingdom Lodge Club rooms are all Savanna view rooms and only an upgrade of about $167 from a regular Savanna view room which makes this Club a pretty good deal if you were set on a Savanna view room already.
At the Grand Floridian, the Club rooms are the ONLY rooms in the main Grand Floridian building. If you’re looking to stay as centrally located as possible at Grand Floridian, a Club room makes the most sense.
The Club rooms at the Beach Club, Boardwalk, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, and Yacht Club are essentially the same rooms in no better locations than other rooms, but they also have access to their respective Clubs.
We stayed at the Beach Club most recently and found that the Club experience there wasn’t as nice as when we stayed at Coronado Springs. The Club was less grand and the cast members, though nice, weren’t up to the same level as Coronado Springs.
Remember, these prices are based on the least expensive nightly rates in 2023 and before any discounts.
Is Club Level Worth It?
Again, it depends. I think you should ask yourself how much you’ll save by using the Club for food and drinks each day. The biggest savings is on wine and beer for adults. Our most recent stay was four adults. We all had multiple glasses of wine or beer throughout the day. The nightly upgrade cost was likely less than the alcohol alone - we used an annual pass discount of 35% for this stay.
We also had breakfast at the Club everyday and snacks - not quite “lunch” at the Club too. Otherwise, we’d have needed to do a quick service breakfast or lunch to make up for it. You might think that $250 - $300 per day sounds like a lot for saving on buying breakfast or lunch, but these meals can add up fast. You know how your family or group eats and drinks, so you’d need to decide if it makes sense for your party.
A Club stay doesn’t make sense for a group who likes cocktails or are non-beer and wine drinkers. The Clubs don’t have a full bar, so you won’t be saving on alcoholic beverages if you will still be visiting lounges to get your preferred cocktails.
Likewise, a Club stay doesn’t make sense if you have picky eaters. Their offerings daily are what is put out. There’s no reviewing a menu in advance. This might be difficult for families with kids who are very particular. There are always cereals, breads, and bagels at breakfast time and individual snack bags throughout the day, but it’s not going to be much of a savings when you’re not taking advantage of all the foods offered daily.
Finally, when the dining plans return in 2024, a Club stay AND the Dining Plan don’t make sense. I’d recommend one or the other. You can see the cost breakdown of the Disney dining plans in this post.
