Disney Vacation Budget Series: $3,000

Disney is known to be expensive, and I’m not here to debate it. I am here to show you how you can achieve your vision of a Disney trip in different ways.

The first in this budget series is how you can stay on-site at Disney with $3,000 for a family of four in March 2022.

All-Star Music Resort, All-Star Movies Resort, or All-Star Sports Resort

You can stay at the All-Star Music Resort for five nights with admission to the park for four days each for just about $3,000. These resorts are all value resorts that include a variety of dining and recreation options right on site. With heavy theming, these, resorts can be a great option for value vacationers and families alike. Just keep in mind that these are large resorts that are the furthest from the parks on Disney property, depending on buses only.

Coronado Springs, Port Orleans - French Quarter, or Caribbean Beach Resorts

For the same price of about $3,000, a family of four can stay at any of these moderate resorts for three nights including admission to one park a day for four days. These moderate resorts provide a bit more luxury with slightly larger rooms with higher end finishings. All three are beautifully themed in the character of the regions they represent. Your family can choose from the feel of the southwest and Mexico at Coronado Springs, the romantic feel of New Orleans at Port Orleans - French Quarter, or experience the beach at the Caribbean Beach Resort. Coronado Springs only offers bus transportation, while Port Orleans - French quarter also offers boat transportation to Disney Springs, and Caribbean Beach is nicely positioned on the Skyliner route between Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Animal Kingdom Lodge and Contemporary Resort

This same family of four could also spend two nights at either of these Deluxe resorts with a 3-day park admission to one park per day. These are on the highest end of what Disney parks have to offer. For animal and Animal Kingdom lovers, staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is on many bucket lists. The $3,000 price only includes a standard view. Upgrading to a Savannah view increases your overall package by about $400. The downside to this beautiful resort is that it only offers bus transportation to the parks.

The Contemporary is one of the original resorts at Walt Disney World and is a Disney icon. Not only does it offer bus, boat, and monorail transportation, but the monorail goes right through the main tower of the hotel itself. It also houses one of the most recognized character dining locations - Chef Mickey’s.

Hopefully you can see that there is a wide range of hotel accommodations to choose from at Walt Disney World Resort. It will come down to your budget, and what you envision your trip to look like. If you only plan on being at your hotel to sleep, a view or location may not matter much. If you want to be as close as possible to the parks, a moderate or deluxe resort with monorail, boat, or Skyliner access might be a better option. If you or members of your group are more interested in the dining and shopping that Disney Springs has to offer, there are a variety of resorts in the Disney Springs area to choose from.

Stay tuned for the next Disney Vacation Budget Series where you’ll see how much a week at varying resorts will cost you, and be sure to subscribe to receive email notification of all of our posts.
