A Guide to the Holidays at Disneyland
The Holidays officially began at Disneyland on November 15! The holiday celebration goes through January 6 and can be experienced throughout the parks and resorts.
Here are my best recommendations for you to enjoy the holidays while visiting Disneyland now through January 6:
Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle - The centerpiece of Disneyland is decked out with 80,000 twinkling lights and you’ll be awed by “Believe…In Holiday Magic” nighttime spectacular which will cause it to snow!
it’s a small world Holiday - This iconic attraction gets into the spirit with holiday tunes, festive decor, and becomes a Yuletide experience.
A Christmas Fantasy Parade - At Disneyland, join Mickey and his pals for a joyous procession filled with prancing reindeer, toy soldiers, favorite characters in holiday garb, and the big man himself - Santa!
Haunted Mansion holiday overlay - During the holidays, you’ll only be able to ride Haunted Mansion using the Virtual Queue. It is themed for the Nightmare Before Christmas with Jack Skellington taking over the popular attraction.
Candlelight Processional - Located near the entrance to Disneyland, this only takes place on December 7 and 8 at 5:30pm and 7:45pm.
Seasonal treats - You can enjoy these throughout the parks and resorts. You’ll find both sweet and savory treats.
World of Color Season of Light - The California Adventure nighttime spectacular transforms with holiday music and colors.
Festival of the Holidays - Enjoy festive foods and drinks and dance to live music during this festival at California Adventure.
Disney Viva Navidad - Celebrate Mexican and Brazilian traditions with crafts, live music, food, and entertainment at California Adventure.
Meet Santa - You’ll find the big man himself at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in California Adventure and Fantasyland Theater in Disneyland.
Cars Land Christmas - Radiator Springs is decorated for the holidays and lights up at night. Two of the attractions have holiday overlays as well: Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.
Holiday Dining at the Disneyland resorts - Some Disney locations elevate your experience by adding a festive flare. Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays at the Disneyland Hotel and Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party at Storytellers Cafe at the Grand Californian are very popular. Reservations are highly recommended.
Very Boozy Christmas at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar - The famous tropical lounge at the Disneyland Hotel features holiday theming and entertainment.
Yes, there’s lots to do, and unfortunately you can’t do it all. Review what’s being offered and make your list of priorities. Over a few days, you’ll be able to hit the highlights.
